New oak trees recently planted at Claywood

Manor Castle ward is going to be home to hundreds of new trees. New woodland is to be planted at Skye Edge Open Space and Manor playing fields. All of the new woodland will be accessible to the community and include areas of open space to incorporate footpaths, woodland edge habitat, rides and glades. Manor Castle Greens have often been swift to complain when the Council have cut down trees, so  we are pleased to be able to welcome this move.

Graham Wroe, candidate for Manor Castle ward said “The new woods will provide a diversity of habitats for wildlife,  improve the air and create new areas for walking. We need to keep planting new trees in our battle against climate change.”
