Last weekend I had a trip to the site of Sheffield Renewables first project, at Jordan Dam, not far from Tinsley roundabout. Here are some pics.
The models show how the power of the river can be harnessed by installing an archimedes screw. The ecology of the river will be improved my the installation of a fish ladder.
Sheffield Renewables are currently looking for investors to buy shares so that this scheme can go ahead. More details here.
