Tylney Road and Seabrook Road residents may need to protect their street trees

Font not the right size?

The Streets Ahead project, which has been so controversial in other parts of the city, is heading for our area. Streets in the Stafford area are due to be resurfaced in 2017, but issues with trees may be dealt with before then.

On Tylney Road these trees could be judged to be disrupting the kerb or the pavement so could be threatened.

On Seabrook Road there is a similar story.

Residents should be proactive if they want to protect the trees. Talk to your neighbours about them, keep a watch out for notices appearing on trees, Join STAG and Save our Trees on Facebook to understand the issues. If you are concerned about anything email manorcastlegreens@sheffieldgreenparty.org.uk

Manor Castle Greens have written to the Streets Ahead project asking for information about these trees but have only had a holding reply. We will be keeping you informed here.

  1. Graham Wroe says:

The tree outside 35 Tylney Road is dead and will be felled sometime soon. Replacing this is the best option. Amey will be doing a survey of the other trees sometime in the near future.

I gather the tree outside 35 Tylney Road will be replaced by a Malus ‘Evereste’ (a variety of Crab Apple). Are residents happy with this? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malus_%27Evereste%27
